Welcome to ISNN: Your Ally!  Mission for international Student Protection in the USA

Welcome to the International Student News Network (ISNN). If you’re an international student navigating the complexities of studying in the United States on an F-1 visa, you know it can be both an exciting opportunity and a source of unique challenges. You’re focused on your education, but you also need to manage complex immigration rules, find housing, potentially seek employment (CPT/OPT), and simply adjust to a new environment – all while maintaining your legal status.

Why ISNN Exists: international Student Protection by  Understanding F-1 Student Vulnerability

FNN was created out of a deep understanding of the pressures and potential pitfalls facing F-1 students. We recognize that maintaining your F-1 status often relies heavily on Designated School Officials (DSOs) and the accuracy of your SEVIS record – a system you may not have direct access to verify. This dependence, combined with navigating unfamiliar legal and educational systems, can unfortunately make students targets for misinformation, scams, and even predatory practices by institutions that prioritize profit over student welfare.

Past experiences involving deceptive enrollment, I-20 manipulation, and financial exploitation demonstrate that serious risks exist. These situations can cause immense stress, financial hardship, and jeopardize a student’s ability to remain in the US, impacting future opportunities like H-1B visas or National Interest Waivers (NIW). ISNN exists because we believe no student should have their dream of studying in the US turn into a nightmare due to lack of information or exploitation.
